Vrindavan, 2018.03.15 (VT) Mathura-Vrindavan Municipal Corporation has announced tenders for 31 new carparks. At present, there are 9 parking lots in Vrindavan and 14 in Mathura.
The carparks will be built in public-private partnership through an e-tendering process that will begin from 20th March. Those wishing to apply to run a parking lot, have to pay 50 Lakh in advance.
Parking lots will be built at various high traffic areas including Mathura’s Janma Bhoomi, Dig Gate and Govind Nagar.
Mathura MLA Shrikant Sharma said that multilevel parking lots are needed in both towns. The MLA has been spearheading the campaign to make Mathura and Vrindavan ‘smart cities’ with clean and well maintained roads, efficient traffic management and properly positioned parking lots.
