Raw food stopped at Bankey Bihari

Vrindavan 2016.04.22 (VT): Everything in the world is owned by Thakur  Bankey Bihari, but now he himself is facing problem. Thakur Ji wants to eat raw food, but despite of the tradition, he is not getting it. instead he is getting dishes only all the time, which is happening for the first time in the known history of the temple, which is due to the internal disputes between the serving families.

As per the tradition, Thakur Bihari Ji is served food four times a day viz Baal Bhoga in the morning, Raj Bhoga in the afternoon, Uthaapan Bhoaga at evening and Shayan Bhoga at night. Thakur Ji is served raw food for lunch as per the tradition, which is prepared by the families serving Bihari Ji. But from some time, there has been internal disputes among these families due to which the service for the raw food has been interrupted by the concerned family. As a result raw food hasn’t been served to Thakur Ji form the past 4 days.

The president of the organizing committee Mr. Nand Kishor Upmanyu had a meeting with Sevayat’s and the organizing committee to have a better food management for Thakur Ji.

Women participation in the organizing committee

Vrindavan today has reported earlier also about the gender discrimination in the organizing committee at Bankey Bihari temple. Women does’t have the right to be a part of the oragnizing committee, or even cast a vote, except special situation, for the Bankey Bihari seva committee. The election for the organizing committee is on April 24. After the report in Vrindavan Today, now the candidates can be seen making promises to work for the women rights in the Bankey Bihari organizing committee.
