Vrindavan 2016.09.26 (VT): Much awaited Bajna Interchange project has started on Sunday at Yamuna Expressway, which will provide one more route to enter Braj. JP Group has already started levelling the ground and connecting it to Expressway. The project is expected to finish by December post which it will be open for public. Dairy and bricks industry of the area is expecting a boom in business after the Bajna interchange become operational.
Yamuna expressway was inaugurated in the year 2012 by the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. But soon protests started to construct an interchange route to connect Nauhjhil-Bajna area to Yamuna expressway. After the assurance from Government, the protests stopped, but started again few days back after seeing no action from the administration. Recently the authorities committed the date of Sep 25, when the officials from JP group started the work.
The interchange will reduce the distance for Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahar and Mathura. Project Manager Mr. Ashish Srivastava said that 75% of the land has already been acquired for the project, while the talks are on with the farmers to procure rest 25% of land. A total of 1.5 crore hectare land is required for the project. Toll boths will also be installed on both sides of the Bajna cut, after it becomes operational.
