The Yamuna devotees are demanding that a parallel drain run along the river from Mathura to Vrindavan to prevent sewage from falling into it. They also submitted a memorandum to the City Magistrate, Vijay Kumar.

Jai Krishna Das said in the memo that if no action is taken to close off the big and small drains before January 31, the Dal will build a wall blocking the large drain at Cheer Ghat, which is a major source of polluted water flowing into the Yamuna. They threatened to expand the operation to other drains in the following days.

Said Jai Krishna Das, “We cannot allow this dirty water to continue to flow into the sacred river. If the government cannot do anything, then we will stop it ourselves. The sewage treatment plants also need to be operative.”

On this occasion, general secretary Ramesh Sisodia, national consultant Pandit Udayan Sharma, National Secretary RP Singh, state youth chairman Vivek Mahajan, city youth president Munnalal Nishad , block president Radhaballabh Sharma, District President Satya Pal Singh, etc., were present.
